Green Valley, KS Foundation
The Green Valley Kansas Foundation is organized in Kansas as a not-for-profit corporation under K.S.A. 17-6002. The Foundation has applied for recognition under U.S. Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(4). Membership fees and contributions to help defray costs of the Foundation are not normally tax-deductible. No member of the Board of Directors or regular/founding members will be compensated for their services or participation but may be reimbursed for reasonable approved expenditures such as mailing materials, website hosting, postage, email addresses, etc.

The only governance option that eliminates the possibility of Manhattan annexing any or all property in Green Valley is incorporation.

Benefit and special districts would make assessments on property within those individual districts. For Benefit districts this would likely fall upon only new property owners to the area (just like specials assessed on the next phase of Whispering Meadows or Elbo Creek or Nelson’s Ridge are not added to the specials of previous phases).
